The second Worldwide Industrial Design Conference (WIDC) Preliminary Meeting was held in Liangzhu Mengqi town in this June. Prof. Florin Baeriswyl, along with 9 other industrial experts chosen from 46 representatives of the 1st WIDC meeting gathered together to define the theme, settle the agenda and prepare a number of other issues for the formal event.
Prof. Florin Baeriswyl highlighted the significance of innovation and hails WIDC as a global platform for innovation design at this year’s Worldwide Industrial Design Conference (WIDC) Preliminary Meeting held in Liangzhu, Zhejiang Province on June 16.
As a pre-event of this year’s Worldwide Industrial Design Conference, the WIDC Preliminary Meeting aims to define the theme, settle the agenda and prepare a number of other issues for the formal event.
It was concurrently held with the International Design Industry Development High-level Meeting and Design Industry Cooperation Multi-lateral Talks & Meetings.
In a roundtable meeting with nine industrial experts selected from 46 representatives of the first WIDC conference, Prof. Baeriswyl said: “Industrial design is actually from the past. Nowadays, we talk more about design and innovation. WIDC could stand for world innovation design congress which is open for the future.
The 2nd WIDC under the theme of “Design·Ecology” is expected to be held the end of this year, inviting global design talents to China with a more open and sharing manner to complete the construction of global innovation system and promote the prosperity of design industry.
