On December 2nd, the first Worldwide Industrial Design Conference (WIDC) was held in Hangzhou, China. Detao Brand Strategy Master Florin Baeriswyl was invited to deliver a keynote speech.
WIDC is a global event promoting innovation and creativity in the design industry. Mr. Ma Kai – Vice Premier of the State Council of People’s Republic of China – opened the congress.
This congress was co-founded by the China Industrial Design Association (CIDA) as well as representatives from industry, designs associations and ,universities representing 26 countries .
Liu Ning, President of the China Industrial Design Association (CIDA) spoke about design transformation and innovation.
Florin Baeriswyl (Professor of Brand Strategy and Design) highlighted the issues of design and branding while also speaking about the role of education of innovation and creativity in China.
Florin Baeriswyl highlighted the importance to connect students and potential employers. As a result he created an ITALK (institute talk) platform. This concept allows students to meet industry professionals and talk about brands, design and the importance of quality and consistency as part of brand culture.
